The median home sale price in Dallas-Fort Worth dropped month-over-month for the first time this year in August — another sign that the peak of the housing market boom may be in the rearview window, at least for now.
Dallas-Fort Worth’s median home sale price for August is $355,000 — down from its July peak of $357,751, according to the latest RE/MAX National Housing Report issued Friday.
Despite the monthly drop, home sale prices in DFW remain sharply higher year over year — up 18.5% — compared to the August 2020 median sale price of $300,000.
The number of home sales sank, too. Some 10,080 homes sold across DFW in August, down 8.5% from the 11.017 sold in August 2020.
Sales were also down 2.2% from this July when 10,303 homes in DFW changed hands, the RE/MAX report shows.
