The chain wants to buy 43 acres of land next to a Buc-ee’s and build the store there. According to the story, the filed its rezoning requests as a “Texas-based grocer” but representatives revealed that the request was from H-E-B during a Melissa City Council meeting last week.

H-E-B hasn’t purchased the 43 acres of land, located at the intersection of U.S. 75 just north of SH 121, yet. The land has multiple types of zoning and the Melissa City Council approved the required changes at its meeting last week.

H-E-B spokeswoman Mabrie Jackson told the DMN no timetable has been set for developing the property.

The beloved chain already has plans for four stores in DFW: one in Kaufman County in Forney and the other three in Collin County in Frisco, Plano and McKinney
